Trauma informed systems

The Scottish Government has pledged to make Scotland ‘the best place in the world to live’ and is dedicated to creating workplaces that understand and respond to the traumatic experiences people have had. Their ambition is to transform frontline services into a place where people are treated with empathy and kindness, they are empowered to make choices and access services that will support their recovery and build trusting relationships.

The East Dunbartonshire ACEs and Trauma Collaborative (EDATC) has been established to take forward this long term national strategic vision on a local level.

In order to achieve this, the EDATC has been separated into three subgroups that have a specific focus:

  • People and Training
  • Policies and Systems
  • Environment

To support with the delivery and rollout of training across the whole workforce in East Dunbartonshire, a Trainer and Facilitator network has been established which provides peer support and focuses on ensuring that training at all levels continues to deliver specific learning outcomes, as well as using up to date research and relevant evidence-based learning from across the world.

Our focus is to implement the NES psychological framework and create an trauma informed and responsive workforce across East Dunbartonshire.
